Liz Taylor came to NAMI in 2002 to ensure that people living with mental illness and their families could find the help and hope they need. Her work has focused on building strong NAMI organizations in the field by providing the resources and technical assistance needed to support people in the community, including strategic planning, leadership development, volunteer recruitment and board development.
Prior to NAMI, Liz was the executive director of NAMI Connecticut, executive director of a CT communication and visual arts nonprofit and international director of affiliate development for a rare birth defect foundation, building affiliates in over 37 countries.

What piece of your work at NAMI are you most proud of

I am most proud of the connections I have made and the relationships I have built with NAMI volunteers nationwide. Together, we build strong, robust state organizations and local affiliates that can provide support, education and advocacy to the people who need NAMI the most.

Who inspires you?

Every day I am inspired by my daughters, who have taught me courage and patience, especially during times of adversity and transition.
