Cameron Hancock was first introduced to NAMI when she attended a NAMI Family-to-Family class through NAMI Northern Virginia. She now works at the HelpLine overseeing volunteers and interns, and managing the HelpLine’s Legal Resource Service to help callers better understand and access resources for different legal situations. She also facilitates NAMI’s online discussion groups and manages online requests.

Cameron’s passion for mental health comes from both personal and academic experience. Before NAMI, she worked with children and teens living with mental health conditions and genetic disorders. She received her B.A. in psychology.

What piece of your work at NAMI are you most proud of?

I take great pride in many of the projects I’ve worked on at NAMI, but I’m proudest of our day-to-day accomplishments at the HelpLine. Knowing that we are impacting the lives of those affected by mental health conditions across the country is powerful and incredibly rewarding!

What’s something about you that would surprise others?

I can do a no-handed cartwheel.
