Sue Medford

Executive Assistant
Senior Leadership Team

Sue Medford joined NAMI in 1996 after graduating from Washington Business School Legal Secretarial Program, not realizing she was destined to join NAMI family. As a family member who witnessed the consequences of untreated mental illness and inadequate mental health services, she is privileged to work with so many dedicated staff members, board members and leaders in the field who work tirelessly to improve lives of people affected by mental illness.

Sue provides administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer and has supported three former executive directors. Prior to joining NAMI, she worked at Telenex Corporation as an electronic technician for 15 years.

What piece of your work at NAMI are you most proud of?

Being at the right place at the right time to help someone in crisis and being there for someone who wants to be heard.

What’s something about you that would surprise others?

My deepest dive as a scuba diver was 111 feet in Grand Cayman.
