Jill Shumann supervises NAMI’s Strategic Task Forces focused on Youth and Young Adults, Cross-Cultural Innovation & Engagement and Diversion from the Justice System. She also leads NAMI’s monitoring and evaluation function. With more than 20 years of experience in public health, Jill is excited to apply her public health and management expertise to improve access to quality mental health services for all Americans.

She came to NAMI in 2021 after serving as Population Services International’s Vice President for Francophone and Lusophone Africa. She has also served as Shelter House’s Director of Development, addressing family homelessness and domestic violence in addition to being an independent global health consultant.

Jill holds a B.A. from Lawrence University in Wisconsin. She also holds both a Masters in Health Science and Masters in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University.
