Go Green for Mental Health Month

Go Green!

Join us to shine a light on mental illness in your home, online or in your community. Each year for Mental Health Month, NAMI coordinates with hundreds of people, landmarks and organizations across the country to get everyone to “go green" in support of mental health.

Here are some ways you can show your support.

  • Use connections you may have in your community to get buildings illuminated in your town or city. Reach out to PR or media departments of organizations or companies or contact local officials.
  • Wear a green ribbon. Pin it on your shirt or on your bag or backpack.
  • Hand out or sell green ribbons for people to wear.
  • Contact local businesses and government to see about placing green ribbons throughout your community on trees, light posts, columns and in other public spaces.
  • Wear green, and get creative with green shoelaces, a green suit, hair dye, or manicures.
  • Initiate a "Wear Green Day." Encourage your workplace and friends to pick a day during the month to wear green to spread the word about Mental Health Month.
  • Participate in a NAMIWalk—and wear green!
  • Share photos of your "go green" activities on social media.
