IMPORTANT information for convention travelers.
Traveling with your Emotional Support Animal?
If you are traveling with an emotional support animal, please be aware that some airlines have recently updated their policies regarding advance notification, documentation and other requirements for approval of service animals on planes. We recommend you visit airline websites or call for details well in advance of our planned travel.
What is REAL ID?
Before leaving for the airport, please check if your drivers license meets the Department of Homeland Security's REAL ID standards or be prepared to present another form of acceptable identification when flying to New Orleans.
REAL ID is part of legislation passed in May 2005 to make all states comply with upgraded ID requirements such as bar codes and other machine-readable formats, holograms, and anti-forgery technology.
Starting January 22, 2018, travelers who do not have a license from a compliant state or a state that has been granted an extension (a complete list of non-compliant states/ territories can be found here) will be asked to provide alternate acceptable identification. If the traveler cannot provide an acceptable form of identification, they will not be permitted through the security checkpoint.
