Celebrate and Bring Awareness to Your Community

The US House of Representatives proclaimed July as Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month in 2008, aiming to improve access to mental health treatment and services for multicultural communities through increased public awareness. Since then, individuals and organizations around the country have joined NAMI in celebrating the Month and increasing awareness. Join us!

Featured Event: 2014 National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month Planning Webinar

When: Wednesday, April 16, 2014 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM EDT

Join NAMI and the National Network to Eliminate Disparities (NNED) to learn how to plan and host successful events to celebrate NMMHAM and broaden your impact.

While there are all types of activities you can host, this webinar will offer suggestions on:

  1. Hosting a speaker’s event where you highlight mental health in a specific community.
  2. Partnering with faith communities to bring the message to their congregations.
  3. Using your own story to spread the word by developing a succinct and well-crafted short testimony of what mental health means to you.
