Advocacy and Public Policy

The Advocacy & Public Policy department works to address injustices and improve the lives of people with mental illness and their families. Our founders set a high bar for advocacy and we strive to raise it every day. We take on prominent policy issues and educate policymakers about how these issues affect our members. We also partner with influential allies and promote NAMI’s positions with the media. Our greatest strength, though, is the power of countless grassroots members sharing the undeniable truth of their lived experience to influence public policy.
