An Orientation to Wellness Action Recovery Plans (WRAP): Achieving a Self-Directed Life Through a Proven Daily Wellness Strategy

This webinar will provide an overview of Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP) and how they support people with serious mental illness (SMI). WRAP is a simple and powerful tool that can help people with SMI create a plan to help them navigate their mental illness and live a life that is meaningful and productive. The presentation will include information/resources for people with a mental illness, family members as well as behavioral health providers to better understand their role in the process of developing and navigating the plan. The presenters will include the Director of WRAP at Advocates for Human Potential, who manage the WRAP trainings, a person with SMI and a family member of someone with SMI to speak about how WRAP has enhanced their recovery.

Presenters:

  • Lynn Miller is the Director for the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP,) an evidence-based program that has been instrumental in transforming the lives of individuals around the world.
  • Dr. Akua Feathers, PhD, is an empowerment speaker, certified coach, life strategist specializing in trauma-informed care, mental wellness, identity restoration and a seasoned facilitator of healing-centered workshops, leadership retreats, and Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP).
  • Mary Ellen Copeland, PhD, is an author, educator and mental health recovery advocate. Her work is based on her studies of how people with mental health issues deal with life challenges, and how they go on to do the things they want to do and be the way they want to be while focusing on shifting mental health care toward personal empowerment, prevention, and recovery using simple, safe self-help strategies.
