17 U.S. Senators Write Letter To Secretary Burwell Citing NAMI Report on Parity

In a first step to addressing some vital concerns in Affordable Care Act health plans, a group of U.S. Senators sent a letter to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell calling for action to ensure transparency and mental health parity. The letter cites NAMI’s report “A Long Road Ahead” noting, among other issues, that those who are enrolling are not given the detailed information they need to make informed decisions when buying a health plan.
