NAMI Membership Elects New Board of Directors During NAMICon 2023

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) announces the election of its new Board of Directors. Judge Joyce Campbell, J.D., was elected to serve a second term as board president of the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization.

Campbell is a member of NAMI Butler County and serves as Immediate Past President of the NAMI Ohio Board of Directors. She currently serves as the Immediate Past chair of the Ohio Judicial Conference and is a former member of the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on Specialized Dockets and works to encourage the implementation of a specialized courts for individuals with severe mental illness involved in the criminal justice system in every jurisdiction throughout the country. She is a municipal court judge in Fairfield, Ohio, and has presided over a certified mental health docket for 22 years.

NAMI membership elected the board members during NAMICon 2023, which was held May 24–27. They are elected for three-year terms and may serve two consecutive terms. The board plays a central role in determining the governing policies of NAMI, helps inform official public policy positions, and establishes the budget and priorities for the national office. It plays a key role in the development and approval of the strategic plan that guides the organization’s goals and priority areas of focus.
