As a young African American growing up in South Carolina, the decks were already stacked against Lloyd. When he found himself in jail following a psychotic episode, his world came crashing down as he struggled to cope with his schizophrenia. Scared and alone, and without any available mental health support, Lloyd was left to fend for himself.
