Today marks the first episode of a new limited podcast series, “You Are Not Alone: Voices of Recovery,” hosted by NAMI Chief Medical Officer Ken Duckworth, M.D., the author of “You Are Not Alone: The NAMI Guide to Navigating Mental Health — With Advice from Experts and Wisdom from Real People and Families.”
This podcast is a supplement to the book, drawing from among more than 100 interviews Dr. Duckworth conducted with real people sharing authentic stories of their mental health journeys. Episodes will be released every Thursday.
Episode 1 features Diana Chao. She is the founder of Letters to Strangers, a mental health support group she started in high school that has grown quickly and significantly to have chapters on six continents.
She tells Dr. Duckworth about her family’s journey from China to Claremont, Calif., and her experiences with bipolar disorder, complex PTSD and depression.
