Madeleine Stults

Madeleine Stults (she/they) is a Next Gen ex-officio, non-voting member of the NAMI Board of Directors and member of NAMI Tallahassee.

Maddie is a young adult involved with their affiliate in different capacities including co-founder of NAMI Tallahassee's Young Adult Support Group and is a NAMI Tallahassee LGTBQIA+ Support Group Facilitator.

Having already been diagnosed with depression and generalized anxiety disorder, her mental health journey continued in senior year of high school during the pandemic which resulted in isolation at her parents' house for six months without closure regarding their four years of high school and no certainty about their future. It was after reading a relatable story about other youth experiencing the pandemic, that she started volunteering with NAMI Tallahassee to advocate for young people and their mental health.

It is Maddie’s goal to work to integrate mental health into the video game and streaming industry by getting NAMI's name into the gaming community via conventions, streamers, and more. They'd like to provide guidance to youth and young adults regarding the use of short-form media consumption such as Instagram Reels, TikToks, or YouTube Shorts and their dopaminergic effects. Maddie also wants to embody youth and young adult voices during board tenure to ensure the representation and protection of LGBTQIA+ youth in every decision made by the board.

Recognized as a APA SUPER Fellowship Recipient, Maddie is working on her B.A. in psychology at Florida State University.
