Nearly two-thirds (64%) of U.S. construction workers say they’ve experienced anxiety or depression in the last year — a sharp increase from 54% just a year ago.
The findings from Clayco’s national study, which surveyed more than 2,000 construction workers and executives, reveal how stigma, fear, and workplace culture continue to prevent people from getting help when they need it most.
“Stigma and fear are barriers to workers seeking help,” said Darcy Gruttadaro, NAMI’s Chief Innovation Officer. “People may not feel like their colleagues will have confidence in them if they come forward.”
