Next Steps in Peer Credentialing: What Else is Needed Now That We Have National Model Standards from SAMHSA

Join us during the third session of this four-part series about peer support as our guest speakers discuss the National Model Standards for Peer Support Credentialing in depth, plus what supervisors need to know to be successful.

We’ll explore how the National Model Standards support the well-being of peer support specialists, as well as:

  • What the National Model Standards address for the behavioral health community
  • The factors that the behavioral health community must be aware of to provide the most effective peer support services
  • NAMI survey findings that highlight the importance of what is needed, beyond the standards, to ensure that Certified Peer Support Specialists get the understanding, acceptance, and support they need to do their jobs

Attendees will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the National Model Standards and ways that NAMI should be involved in the implementation.

Providing high-quality support to the workforce that helps individuals experiencing mental health crises is critical to our nation’s strategy to strengthen mental health care capacity. Learn how SAMHSA’s Model Standards give states guidance about how we can better support Certified Peer Support Specialists.
