NAMI’s national office leads our Alliance on federal advocacy issues with Congress and the Executive Branch. NAMI takes a nonpartisan approach to advocate on a wide range of policy issues, including expanding access to health care coverage, advancing research, diverting people from justice system involvement, promoting early intervention and more.

In 2023, NAMI urges Congress and the Administration to continue their commitment to people with mental health conditions by focusing on four key areas:

  • Reimagining Crisis Response
  • Improving Youth Mental Health
  • Advancing Research
  • Increasing Access to Care
