Barbara is a member of the NAMI Board of Directors and the Principal of Ricci Advisors LLC in New York City, as well as a member of NAMI NYC where she is a Family 2 Family facilitator.

From 2016 – 2019 Barbara also served as Board Treasurer and Policy Committee Chair at NAMI National and prior to that as Board President of NAMI NYC where she helped create the award-winning #IWILLLISTEN campaign. She hosted two CEO Summits on workplace mental health, including the inaugural summit at the NYSE; spoke at the White House on this issue; and has been published in Harvard Business Review and Psychiatric Services. She was the Founding Executive Director of the non profit organization Mindful Philanthropy. She currently serves on the boards of New York State’s Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene and the MQ Foundation.

As a family member to a loved one diagnosed with schizophrenia, she first learned about NAMI when her family attended support sessions at NAMI Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She is also a person living with Bipolar 2 disorder.

Barbara earned her BA from Franklin and Marshall College and her Executive MPA ‘19 and Advanced Certificate in Social Finance ‘23 from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
