NAMI's 2020 honoree for the NAMI Scientific Research Award is David C. Henderson, M.D., Psychiatrist-in-Chief at Boston Medical Center and Professor and Chair of Psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine. His research interests include treatment–resistant schizophrenia. For the past 25 years, he has worked internationally conducting research and training programs. In the United States, he has led more than 30 randomized clinical trials. NAMI will honor the work of Dr. Henderson at the Inspiring Hope Through Research, virtual event, on Oct. 22, 2020, from 2pm – 3pm ET.
The NAMI Scientific Research Award, supported by the Peter Corbin Kohn Endowment, recognizes the work and research of individuals creating a difference and moving our scientific understanding and treatment of mental illnesses forward.
Research is an important component of NAMI's mission to build better lives for the nearly 60 million Americans affected by mental health conditions. Each year since 2005, NAMI has honored leaders in scientific research that exemplify our theme of Inspiring Hope Through Research.
